Hünnebeck becomes Harsco Infrastructure

Effective as of December 11, 2009, the formwork manufacturer Hünnebeck, Ratingen, Germany, has been renamed Harsco Infrastructure. Concurrently, its affiliates, SGB (UK) and Patent Construction Systems (USA), are also being renamed Harsco Infrastructure.

The former Hünnebeck Group has since 2005 been a member of the globally operating Harsco Corporation that markets its industrial services and products in 50 countries. The regrouping under the new name, Harsco Infrastructure, is intended to bundle even more effectively to the benefit of customers the expertise, experience and capabilities of these three affiliates. "For our customers, there will be no change in their personal contacts, and no change to our products and engineering services," assures Managing Director Markus Nagel, who will head the future Harsco Infrastructure businesses in Central & Eastern Europe as well as Scandinavia and who had previously been COO of the Hünnebeck Group. "The move will mean that we can now revert even more readily to the experience and the globally acclaimed system solutions of our affiliates and add even more customer value. So this is an important step to maintain a strategically strong position in the marketplace."

Harsco Infrastructure has a unique product portfolio and network of experts covering the development, rental and sale of formwork, scaffolding systems and safety solutions to comprehensive services for industrial customers. In all, 8,200 employees worldwide work for Harsco Infrastructure and generated sales of $ 1.5 billion in fiscal 2008.

"Our customers in Germany can rest assured that product developments will continue. Also, we are planning on expanding our services in the areas of formwork, scaffolding and site safety," says Martin Hemberger, CEO of Harsco Infrastructure Deutschland GmbH, in referring to the targets for the domestic construction market. In addition to the technical services provided for major construction projects, the plans are to address even more closely the needs of small and mid-size contractors.

Nagel and Hemberger are both convinced that Harsco Infrastructure is perfectly equipped for these challenges in multiple respects. Over the past years already, close product and expertise transfer among the affiliates has borne fruit and led to a reciprocal extension of capabilities in such areas as safety, support and service systems. What's more, the internationally successful parent company represents a solid roof under which innovations can be nurtured even in difficult periods as emphatically exemplified by the market launch of Topmax the world's first steel-frame table form.

Under its new name and lengthened lineup, Harsco Infrastructure will be making its bauma 2010 debut to a trade audience under the motto: "On your site ... worldwide" where in hall A2 on booth 122/218 it will be exhibiting a complete portfolio of formwork, scaffolding and services for the construction sector and industry.
